MacBook Pro Retina 2016 & 2017 Soldered in SSD Data Recovery

Data Recovery from the MacBook Pro 2016 & 2017 with soldered in SSD is now available at BCDM. We are now able to connect directly to the so called “connector to nowhere” or “lifeboat connector” on the logic board enabling recovery of data directly from the attached SSD’s, as seen in this article on 9to5mac

This service is currently available for the following models:

  • MacBook Pro 13 inch 2016 A1706
  • MacBook Pro 15 inch 2016 A1707
  • MacBook Pro 15 inch 2017 A1707

Due to the fact that these machines feature a soldered in SSD, it is not possible to simply remove the hard disk and recover the data using other tools and techniques. Recovery starts from £225.00* from healthy logic boards, where there are faults present (including water damage) that require repair in advance of recovery, additional charges will apply. As usual, our no data, no fee applies – please see FAQ’s for more details.

Please note that it is not cost effective to upgrade the storage in machines with soldered in SSD drives and we are unable to help with such requests.
