Description

Comprehensive, certified data destruction service available. We are able to offer this reduced fee service as we have an ongoing requirement for donor disks to use for data recovery services. GDPR compliant guarantee, please read on to understand the process and how we ensure that your data is erased in a certified manner.

  1. Complete the options below detailing the quantity and type of disk and whether you need collection (available in Central London, Beds, Herts & Bucks), add to cart and proceed through the checkout;
  2. Pack the disks and ship to the address in the confirmation email or wait for us to confirm collection date;
  3. Once the disks are on-site they will be processed using a hardware data overwrite system to perform either Zero-Fill, NIST 800-88, or DoD 5220.22-M compliant wiping;
  4. Once wiped a certificated of data destruction will be issued via email and the disk will be catalogued in our spares inventory and one day may be a donor to help recover someone data for someone else.

Please note, the above process is only available for functioning Hard Disks, SSD’s and USB storage devices. For non functioning devices any data storage is removed and destroyed manually (e.g. platters removed from disk or NAND Flash removed and shredded).

Our approach is the most cost effective, environmentally friendly, GDPR compliant method.

It is important to note that the processes employed to erase the data are NOT the same as deleting the data or formatting the hard drive. In both of these cases the majority of the data can be recovered as while it may not be visible using explorer/finder etc. the data remains on the disk until it is overwritten by new data, simply put, formatting or deleting data just marks the previously occupied space as available. To ensure that the data is not recoverable, the whole disk must be overwritten with new data using an appropriate method.
